Willow tea rooms…Glasgow ….while here best place to have a cuppa…

 

It opened for business on sauchiehall street in 1903…& it is remained popular ever since

The famous chairs of tea rooms…

 

It was designed by Charles rennie mackintosh…a famous designer ,architect…of Glasgow

 

The room deluxe…reserved for women…furniture & crockery are all in silver

Sylvia…at the front desk…a lovely lady…who spoke a lot about this tea rooms lovingly…this room also has some exclusive gift items..most of the designs based on mackintosh ideas

 

This is a place for the best east tea…nicely brewed…the afternoon tea….which is served in three tiers…is the most famous one…served all through the day…it comes with..a great tasting scone served with clotted cream & strawberry jam…cake of choice…an array of sandwich …a shortbread…& a pot of tea

 

A must have…& a take away too…is the popular meringue…!..was so delicious…I hadn't tasted a better one

 

This is the tea room in Buchanan street…the tall black chairs..to sit on this…& finish your pot of tea…watching the crowd on the street…is a must experience !

Willow tea rooms…was the brain child of miss Kate Cranston …daughter of Glasgow tea merchant…she opened this mainly as art tea rooms…where people could relax ,& enjoy non alcoholic refreshments…

From then to now…people throng this place…which serves almost 25 blends of loose tea…

To both of us…while in Glasgow …this is one of our favorite place…!

And willow tea rooms…is exclusive to Glasgow …the owner…the designer both being Glaswegians ..no where in UK…

So…a must Glasgow experience…great place…great food…great staff…& a greater ambience!
