An acacia shrub…loved by all

Facing my kitchen balcony …a bit far away in the field …is an acacia shrub…at first glance…it looks dull…very unimpressive…but…as days have passed..watching it is my favourite pastime…it isn't the plant but the birds…which vie to get a place on this shrub….any time of the day…there are some birds on it….as I read about it…I realised its leaves,shoots,flowers,tiny bunch of fruits….are all very tasty…no wonder then …birds…goats …butterflies …are all there…around this thorny bush…here is a photo blog…of this shrub…in the past few months…the first 4 are recent…others were taken in march,April …after rains…when it was in full bloom…

 

A wee prinia….but it's song is really loud…exactly at 7.45….in morning…I hear its song!!!!

The little…purple sun bird…female…they are 4 sisters…always playing on it

A crowd of sparrows…they have a time table too…around 6 in evening…before returning to their homes…they relax …& they fly away for night…

 

This is a wheatear…took 3 months back

Pappa purple sun bird…they have 5 kids…4 girls…1 boy….!!!!!!!

 

A family of butterflies…hover around too…

 

When in bloom…it is stunning with little pale yellow flowers….(taken in march)

 

A goat from near by farm…after rains…they are usually brought in to graze …

There are few more types of birds …who visit..whose pics…I have missed taking…

A thorny bush…I would have never thought…would be a favourite with so many beings . ….including me…!!!!
