An evening in Paris ..!!!

It is more than a month now…since we are back in sohar…have been wanting to put up this blog…but some how kept postponing it…in a week I'm off to Bangalore …so I thought I shud put it up this night….

Paris…there is something special about that city….one can feel it…this is a photo blog…an experience I will cherish

We left the hotel around 6 in the evening…& our first stop was river seine…it is said it is a lovers spot…but that evening…full of tourists…although I saw few brides in all their finery…taking pics on the bridge…we walked a little distance…had an ice cream …& just watched all the people…!

Then we decided to take a ride on tuk-tuk…we met this young guy Thomas …who was the guide& driver

As the Eiffel Tower lit up…Thomas took many pictures..standing …sitting…!!! Eiffel Tower is best at night…morning it was a disappointment for me…

The tuk tuk ride began…this square..the obelisk…& some where there napoleon rests too

The arc de triomphe….majestic…crowded…& from here the champs élysées …begins

Lot of trees,shops,cafes,& lights

Shops…shops…&..shops

One can just sit with a beer or coffee…& spend the whole night there

Another end of champs

Louvre museum…entrance..this was the last on tuk tuk…then Thomas dropped us for dinner

The hotel is cile de Paris…it is on 56 th floor…popular with tourists & locals…for food & also the view of Eiffel Tower…

Must say it was magical !

The last…& a thing which was on vijay's wish list…moulin rouge…

It was so beautiful…such beautiful men & women…one has to experience it… It was worth it

Once the show was over…took a cab back to hotel…Paris was still busy…lot of people…may be it is a city that never sleeps!

Paris is perennial …I guess…one for all seasons…all times

As we got back to the room…I remembered that old Hindi song…

Aji aisa mauka phir kaha milega….aao tumko dikhlathi hoon…Paris ki ek rangeein shaam…!

Deko…deko..deko..deko…

An evening in Paris

Thank u vijay…& of course Thomas the nice tuk tuk guy

  1. I visited in 1977 as a bachelor (engaged to Komal) for ECFMG.. stayed there for a week. did a lot of walking along the Seine. Place de la concorde, Chams Eleysee and the Versailes palace. phew. could not afford the Lido. Saw Pappillon, the movie.. Sau Auber (the opera house) from outside, Lovre, Notre Dame etc.. Memories re kindled by your blog post …Thank you

  2. My visit to Paris and France lasted 2 weeks including far flung corners of the country ending in Nice and the principality of Monaco. Loved the museums and of course the Tower. Moulin Rouge was out of bounds, although was very tempted to go. Next time………”a rangeen shaam dekhenge”. Nice piece Vrunda, apt comments! So now we can have an autoriksha in Paris!
