This was how we saw him/her…for the first time!
We just decided to drive on the road towards BRHills….so locked our forest lodges…& left the place…as it is thick forest area…we are not supposed to stop anywhere in between…it can be dangerous …& one can be fined too
But after an hour or so…we found a lake…at the edge…of the forest…very calm…quiet…soothing..everything looked still…so decided we will stop for a few minutes…although we aren't supposed to….
There was a burst of colours…butterflies of so many colours….playing in abandon…
As I watched a log ….a family of tortoise….sunbathing..!!!
A pair of mongoose…hadn't seen such huge ones…eating something…very seriously
Suddenly trees sway…and a langur swings in….and it calls..inside the forests…they watch out for a langur call …it is a sign for a predator…or…any otherwild animal…
And langur was right…there was some trees breaking noise…and rustle of dried fallen forest leaves…was even more louder…
The young elephant appears…very shy…very apprehensive …all the way watching us…and quite from us…a pond in between….
Hides behind the trees…and watches…& watches…
We were thinking..it will come out…have a mud bath…or splash some water… But…no…he wasn't sure of us…!!!…may be it decided…to get inside forests…so it did…slowly it disappeared into the dense forests…while going it shrieked once…was it saying something to us…or…was that a shout out for its parents…we would never know…
But…all I can say…is in the wilderness …a glimpse of a shy wild elephant…are what the special moments are made of..
Few minutes…at a pond…inside a forest…was worth..an experience
