A red zinnia

Where flowers bloom…there is hope

Says a quote…,

This little zinnia…planted 10 days back…started well…one fine morning saw a bud…as it grew bigger…and was all set to bloom…came the heat wave…it was so hot…most of my creepers were singed…I didn't give her an iota of chance to survive…

But…she did…& how..!when I last saw her…before going to bed …the hot wind was still growling…I watered her..& went to bed…

Morning the heat wave had passed…some wilted …some singed…but my little zinnia had bloomed…

Happiness is seeing a bright coloured zinnia in morning!

It has been 4 days…since she bloomed…still around…making me smile…and I have pardoned that heat wave…!

Some pics…

This red beauty…had two visitors this morning…a brownish yellow butterfly….& a purplesunbird …

They flew all the way up to the 6 th floor…just for the nectar…

Littlejoys of life…

Seashore

Sea…seashore…waves…

A sort of enigma…

Sea is vast …sea is endless…sea is mysterious…

Yet it beckons you..

She is soothing …she calms you…

The surest way to destress is

Watch the ocean….listen to the waves…feel the froth & splash on your legs…

Incomparable

The pink magnolia tree

My ode to the magnolias…I saw them in Frankfurt …on a rainy day…those pink flowers…just brightened up the grey skies…

I still wonder….when I go through my holiday pics…did the rain make the flowers look beautiful….or was it the beautiful magnolia tree…which made the rains so awesome…

Either ways…a win win situation…

A pink magnolia tree

The pink flowers

Of the spring….

That bloom on…

A magnolia tree….

With a dash of…

Purple……

Swaying in the April breeze…

It's fragrance all over…

Reaching up the skies..

A thing of beauty…& glory….

This fully bloomed….magnolia tree…

A gift of Mother Nature…

Many a pretty flowers…

I have seen….

But…nothing so grand..

As these…pink magnolias..

Blossoming in….

The SPRING TIME…,

Mid noon musings

On a hot …..hot …afternoon. …even after a cold glass of Laban ….not much of respite from the…heat…

As I sit by the window…and glance at the skies…I see swallows…flying in all glee…

That is better…I think..,

And stretch my neck…little more further…and see the lovely orangish red may flowers blossoms..

All of a sudden…the warm breeze is no more warm…

Felt better…as I sat to write these words. ….

Sights…colours…Frankfurt

Frankfurt is a city of many colours…thanks to its flora…& fauna…

A photoblog…

Just outside the city…saw these blossoms everywhere…when asked the driver said he wasn't sure…but could be wild pear blossoms…

A common tree…I saw

Tulips…

Three…trees…if I had to pick…one is this…a fully bloomed magnolia tree…

Sakura…cherryblossoms…I always thought I would see them in Japan…but then I saw it in Germany…all three colours…white…light pink …& a dark pink ,light pink combo…

A pink magnolia tree…I thought it looked like a chandelier !!

This yellow…is all over!!

I

Cherry blossoms…in museum district..

Spring…on her way…

Colors everywhere…

Just so soothing…

The driver…who dropped us to the city centre…said…you must come back…in autumn…stay over till winter…you will never stop clicking for pics…

May be we will..

Frankfurt…

It is little more than a month…since we visited Frankfurt…we had two options…with omanair…either go to Munich or to Frankfurt …many said Munich is nicer…but since we wanted to do a day trip to kukenhof ,tulip gardens ,we decided on Frankfurt …

But as we landed, and took a cab to the hotel …we realised it was a good choice!…

Frankfurt is lovely…a photoblog in two parts …

First one the city ..on a single day..saw almost all seasons…except snow…as it is called in Europe …the very typical April weather…anything can happen!

It was a rainy morning…and later cleared up…with loads of sunshine

First pic on my camera..is the evening skies…when we reached our room from the airport…I knew…I would capture lot of colours in next 6 days…

At the city centre…tiny raindrops everywhere

The bare trees…on a cold April morning…

A magnolia tree…all set to usher in the spring…

Our hotel road…

Opera house

After lunch…a Maine river cruise…just to take in the sights of a city…nothing like a river cruise…

An old home…beside the river…

By the time we were done with the cruise…the sun was out…had stopped raining…

Had an early supper…while in Frankfurt …a must try…a fried fillet of your choice of meat…with green sauce…delicious …although bit heavy..I couldn't finish the whole stuff

Amazing selection of breads…to go with a nice cup of tchibo coffee!

And the German beer …of course…hubby enjoyed a variety of beers..,!

A day well spent!

Rhine river cruise

After our lunch at the beautiful pub in Wieler …it was time for father Rhine cruise…when you holiday in Europe …the tour guide always includes a river cruise…they are all same…a flowing pretty river…hills on one side…mountains, with little homes on other side…lush woods…fully blossomed trees…clean water…fresh air…

But ,that mandatory river cruise should be done, preferably on the last but one day…I like it like that..so during the cruise…just relax with a cup of hot chocolate…and go through my camera …reminiscing the moments…deleting the not very clear pics…and just do nothing…

Our starting point was right in front of a stunning black home…

With people from of our coach…and some locals…with their dogs..& a huge family celebrating a birthday on cruise…it was a lovely an hour and a half ride…

A photoblog…some of the villages I do remember the names because my iPhone does..!

Our company…:)

The beauty of father Rhine…

A home ….

You get to see …many castles …

Niederheimbach…a picture perfect town

Oberdiebach

KauB

Kaub….is so gorgeous

The woods in between the little towns…adds to the landscape..

Just cruising along…watching the nature helps…!

When the cruise ended…near a little town…the ripples…the sounds..were still in the mind…

Another cruise….another river…another country…

But…then what is a holiday without a river cruise…!
