Wee wildflowers

There are moments..when you are confused..& wonder should I or should I not?!

Like on last Saturday…at kanva river bank..we parked the car ..and had to take a path …the nearest which led to the edge of the river…

First step..I realised…the path way was green …with sand & tiny pebbles…washed away when the tide was high!

And the earth was filled with tiny wildflowers…all the way to the bank…

Pinks…yellows..blues..whites…

Without stamping them..walked slowly…just looking at the little ones…& appreciating the tiny butterflies hovering around them

Some joys comes in little packages….
Best part of wildflowers…you find them in the most unexpected places

Amongst a crowd of birds at kanva

What is that they say….a crowd is the last place..if one wants to find a few moments of peace!

But…last Saturday …I was amidst a noisy crowd of birds…but strangely …the noon air was filled with just that …peace!

From far….it was just the calm blue's….I saw…a still hill…a numb river kanva…not warm not cool river breeze…

Parked the car…and started walking towards the riverbank…..

The path was laden with soft sand..small pebbles…& yellow, pink, blue wildflowers & floating butterflies…

As the edge of river got closer…first sound were that of the subtle splashes of waves

The water was no more blue….it was the fresh rain water…muddy ..and fishes splashing in & out….and birds resting on twigs…

What blessed life I thought…

And I realised it was a crowded world out there…

Fishing glossy ibises

Pelicans and ducks relaxing…

Painted storks …just dozing….

A family of spoonbills…enjoying the gentle splashing Water..

Some trying to find romantic moments…

Stilts…in their own world…

Then like in our world …the loners…& their lonesome moments

A cormorant

A stilt

A pelican

And up above the skies…only where they dare to fly …Eagles….

Just sat on a rock…listening to the breeze..splashes..watching the ripples…& the tiny shells on the bank….

Thought to myself..if there were hundreds of humans around…..what would be the scenario …

I would avoid it like a plague….

A crowd should be like this…each in its own world …no commenting…no opining…no judging….

Live and let live…

I know…it is impossible

As we had our coffee…

Saw the birds…in groups…started to fly…for the night rest I suppose..

As they flew towards the huge green hill…

It was time for us to leave…the sun was already near horizon …

This flock of ducks were the last to leave….

The wilderness…to keep us all sane…& to remind us…to be free….

A twig with mauve flowers

A quote says..,,

The evening hours are the most beautiful..

Just like…

Most beautiful flowers…blossom..last…in late evening….

This twig with mauvish lavender buds…

Is all set to bloom..through the night!

By the time the first rays fall on her…all her bell shaped flowers would have opened up!

I wonder…

What is it in flowers…which I like so much..!

True they radiate happiness..,

May be I love…their reserve..

Their silence…

And the solace it gives me!

Where kites dare!

Let us go where the kites dare..

We will go where kites dare…

Shall we?!

More importantly can we?!

Obviously…a NO!

Neither do we have that faith of flying..

Nor are we that pure..

And yes…we aren’t free…

Birds are blessed..they have no borders..

They have no rules..

They are free souls…

Since I can’t be one of them…

I religiously sit on my terrace..in the evening..

And love to watch them fly high up in the skies…

I listen to their songs..chatter…squabbles

It is sort of meditation…

It is soothing ..calming…

Life…somewhere…as you go through it..teaches you to appreciate little things..

Birds..flowers..trees…

As the warm& cold winds…of June blows…

The western winds..full of floating birds…

I remember…Emily Dickinson ‘s quote…..

I hope you like birds..

It is economical..

It saves going to heaven..!

After a long bad day ..just watch the skies…it helps

As the night rises!

The sky grew darker, painted blue on blue, one stroke at a time, into deeper and deeper shades of night….Haruki Murakami…
Those are the best words…to describe …a night!

Slowly all the oranges..pinks..yellows disappear…

Not a trace of any colour..,,

The dull blue takes over….and then a bit of darker blue adds up..to become deep blue…then Little more blue…indigo pops up..then mauve..then purple…and somewhere goes on into a hue of blackish blue..,

And the night has risen..

Often we say night fall…

But I think it is the night rise!

Yes…sunrise & sunset are pretty..

But for me it is the night which is eventful…

After all that brightness of the daylight…

The dark soothes…

As the first bat fly out..

As a little owlet screechs…

Twinkling stars….as if a sprinkle of silver…

Moonlight…like a splash of white…

Gentle June wind blows…

As the monsoon clouds float…

As the silence takes over…

It is time…to just close the eyes…lean on to easy chair…take a deep breath…

And let the day go…

Tomorrow…is after all an another day…

A grey hornbill having a snack

I love birds of all sizes,colours & shape….

But the weirdest I find is a hornbill….something very funny about the bird!

But still a delight everytime I get to see it…

Very shy birds…they hide but behind the foliage they sit & they watch you

Somehow I never had good pictures of them..

A little stop at Bannur on the way to coorg….to admire the sunflower farms…gave me a chance to photograph this bird…

It flew into that bark of coconut tree…and it use to hit it hard with its strong beak…& then eat berries…

Only after loading all the pics I realise…it had stored it before hand….and was now snacking on it..

Here are some pics…

That is the best part of nature…she gives you more than 101 reasons to admire her…stopped to admire sunflowers…got to see this side of hornbill..

This is my favourite of all….from the edge of the eyes…watching if I'm watching!

Zazu….you remember him! The lion king fella…yes he was a hornbill….

Not related to this post…

But would like to end my photoblog with ZaZu 's quote from movie…

It is a small world….after all …
